Down Trend

The opposite of Up Trend is Down Trend, which is define by having successive lower crest and lower trough as shown in the graph above. And by drawing a down trend line connect the crest of price movement, it will give us a better idea of the underlying trend and provide a line of resistance for future price movement. This trend line will become a very useful tool when you start trading shares. An example of this will be for China Mobile (stock code 941), on the three months chart, it is currently in a down trend.

  1. Hi,
This is not really a comment related to Down Trend but rather a few questions on trading options in Asia ...
I've been trading Options in the US market and is now researching Option Trading in Asia markets particularly HK, China and Taiwan. I would be grateful if could share some useful web links on the basics of Option Trading in Asia especially the differences, if there is any, compared to US Options such as Expiration Cycle, Buy/Sell Rules, etc.
Also, resources on list of Optionable stocks in these markets and reliable online brokers with great charting services. Alternatively, you may wish to write to my personal email at ghispecialists@gmail.com I look forward to hearing from you and sharing our knowledge.
    I thank you in advance.

  2. It seems that you are a serious option trader...well to be honest with you I used to be trading option in Australia and only started writing HK stock options one year ago. So good website for HK option will be the link on www.hkex.com.hk. It has a list of all optionable stock and price for stock options. And for charting service, I use bigcharts, I have the link on my blog too. It can chart HK, AUS, US and many other stock around the world. For US Option, I haven't trade US option before..but I will say thing are very similar for HK options. If you are serious, you should check out the hkex website. That's where I start my learning for trading hk options.

  3. Thank you for your speedy reply and the useful links which I will check out later.
I guess I'm just like you fascinated with options trading and we seem to have similar play strategy that is, selling Options rather than buying. Although, I noticed your plays are mostly writing naked options whereas my favourite are Creidt Spread plays. Well, I guess there are many ways to make money in Options and one has to find what suits his/her style and personality.
Again, thank you for sharing and let's keep in touch via email if you wish.
    Happy trading.

  4. That's ok.. it is a pleasure to know more like minded people like you... to be honest with you... I used to played credit spread before but I loss a fair bit of money with that since then I didn't touch it anymore.. Although I am selling option, all of my put are cash covered.. and if I wrote call, it will be cover by my security as well.
Just to share with you. For the website
I use bigcharts for all the charting and for fundamental analysis I used Finet or aastock. And for checking option price I use hkex. They are the three websites that I go for most of the time and all their links are on my blog. Cheers..

  5. Hi, sorry to bother you again. I've checked out the hkex site and found many useful info regarding HK options trading but didn't manage to find any option price quotes. Am I missing something or could you show me the exact link?
I also tried the HK yahoo finance site but all I could find were warrant prices. Would be grateful with your sharing. Cheers.
